Baby Massage

Why Baby Massage?

Nurturing touch is a fundamental part of a baby's well-being and development. Research has proven that nurturing touch and holding a baby are the most important  factors

responsible for the social, emotional and intellectual development in infants. Baby massage provides parents and carers with a routine to enable them to cherish and show love to their baby through the most basic form of communication - touch. Share special moments with your baby as you learn the techniques of baby massage.

The Key Benefits of Baby Massage

* Improves relaxation, encourages longer sleep duration.

* Helps to relieve the effects of colic, teething, constipation and     wind.

* Stimulates all baby's major systems, co-ordination,   respiration,   digestion, learning ability and language   development.

* Helps to relax the parent and baby and to strengthen the bond.

Classes or your own home - you choose!

Whether you attend a short course of classes that I will arrange periodically or whether you prefer the comfort of your own home, you can learn how to massage your baby, then continue to use these skills in your own time. I use a massage doll to demonstrate and I provide cold pressed organic sunflower massage grade oil for you to massage your own baby during the 'class'.

You can book for either yourself and your baby or a small group of your friends where you can enjoy the experience together in your home, add your name to my mailing list and I can notify you of forthcoming courses, special offers and events or like my facebook/follow me on Twitter for regular updates.

Why Baby Yoga?
Baby Yoga is an ancient tradition that can help give a baby the best possible start in life - health, happiness, security and a feeling of being loved.  Babies are natural yogis - they nostril breath, are concerned with the present moment, love unconditionally, practice non-violence and practice yoga postures naturally as part of their development. Baby Yoga involves the parent or carer learning a series of stretches, poses and moves which will enhance the baby's physiological and psychological development. Through nurturing touch the parent/carer-baby bond relationship is deepened which promotes sensitive attuned parenting.  Yoga with your baby can be fun and sociable as well as exercise for both adult and baby.

The Key Benefits of Baby Yoga
(In addition to all the key benefits of baby massage)
* helps to balance co-ordination and motor skills.
* strengthens babies bodies and develops reflexes.
* improves learning and social development.
* promotes confidence in handling the baby.
* stimulates the brain.
* develops physical confidence and spacial awareness.

Classes or in your own home - you choose!

Attend a short course of classes at a venue or I also offer Baby Yoga for you and your baby to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Like baby massage, you learn the moves during the class which will enable you to practice them in our own time too.

Whether attending a course of classes at a venue or in your own home, Baby Yoga can be practiced from 8 weeks old (unless the baby has been delivered by c-section - then it will be 11-12 weeks - if it is mummy and baby). The range of moves (postures or asana) develops with age, therefore there will be classes for either 8 weeks-16 weeks and a separate class for babies over 16 weeks.

Contact me to book for either yourself and your baby or a small group of your friends where you can enjoy the experience together in your home, add your name to my mailing list and I can notify you of forthcoming courses, special offers and events or like my facebook/follow me on Twitter for regular updates.
