Zen is concerned with finding and expressing your own truth, relaxing and not worrying about things you cannot change, focusing on the moment, with your body and experience being your wisest guide.

Zen Yoga highlights three intertwined areas in it's practice (yogacara): mindfulness or awareness, physical alignment and the flow of energy. This is uniquely based in the Japanese philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism, which is one of the principles of Zen. It consists of a variety of physical and energetic practices emphasizing the exploration of our true self through meditation and yogic practices.

 

In my Zen Yoga class there is a place for you to find space to re-connect with yourself, with life and with your environment; a space for you to develop your awareness of body and mind. A space for you to practice yoga, focusing on each moment, listening to your body and practicing wisely to enjoy the many benefits that a regular yoga practice has to offer.
